I grew up with a hole in my life. My father, a businessman, was always gone, consumed by work. I saw him little and when I did, he was lost in his own thoughts. This made me vow that my own kids would not feel abandoned. I knew firsthand that a father's involvement, or lack thereof, has a great effect on a child's life, and I wanted to be there for my children, showing them my love through my actions and presence.

Making concrete sinks, countertops, and furniture was my passion. For twenty years, I devoted myself to learning and perfecting my craft. It became my livelihood, my way of supporting my wife and three young children. But as my family grew, so did the demands on my time. Balancing work and home became a struggle.

One of the main reasons was the poor quality of the products I was using. I spent hours filling pinholes, mixing ingredients, procuring materials, and recasting failed pieces. It was a never-ending cycle of tedious and unenjoyable tasks.

Determined for change, I took matters into my own hands. I began working on creating my own products, ones that solved the problems I had faced for the past 20 years. I aimed to create a stronger concrete with less air and a focus on quality in all aspects of production.

I named my new company Kodiak Pro, and with the help of my old friend and expert in concrete materials science, Jon Schuler, we created a concrete mix that was far stronger, denser, and richer in color than anything we had ever used before. We also made sure to focus on customer service, treating our customers the way we always wanted to be treated.

By creating client work with Kodiak Pro, I am finally able to reconcile my passion for concrete with my devotion to my family. Mix and cast with ease, de-mold without a flaw. Air holes are gone, and the strength is off the charts. Process and seal in one day, leave work on time to pick up the girls from school. Providing for my family and creating memories, Kodiak Pro allows for it all. That is what matters most to me.
