We're proud to officially announce one of our most exciting rammed earth construction projects to date—The Outlier Hotel—a modern boutique hotel currently in development just outside Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

EarthForm has been tapped to bring our expertise in site-formed rammed earth walls to this one-of-a-kind retreat, which blends raw material honesty with high design. Designed by acclaimed Canadian firm Omar Gandhi Architect and built by longtime EarthForm founder and craftsman Brandon Gore, The Outlier will feature a rugged, refined aesthetic that draws directly from the land it's built on.

A Landmark for Rammed Earth in Arkansas

Located on a prominent site along Highway 187 at the entrance to Eureka Springs, The Outlier Hotel will be a showcase for rammed earth construction in Arkansas—a rare and ambitious use of this ancient building method in the region.

The project will utilize locally sourced limestone-based rammed earth, carefully mixed and compacted onsite, forming walls that are as structurally resilient as they are visually striking. With their natural striations, earth tones, and massive thermal mass, these walls will not only perform in the Arkansas climate, but will also age gracefully—gaining richness over time instead of wearing down.

This is what EarthForm does best: using rammed earth architecture to create meaningful, lasting spaces rooted in place.

Design Features and Materials That Matter

The Outlier Hotel will feature ten standalone cabins nestled into the forest, each one designed with intention and clarity. Concrete, steel, and rammed earth walls form the foundation of the design language, while locally felled and milled Ozark lumber brings warmth and a sense of craft.

Everything chosen for this project is real—not faux, not decorative. These are materials with integrity. Materials that hold up, wear in, and speak to the spirit of the region.

Guests can expect:

  • Direct mountain bike trail access
  • A central community deck with fire features
  • Private views into the surrounding forest
  • Bike wash and secure storage
  • Clean, modern architectural forms grounded in nature

Building for the Future

At EarthForm, we believe in building for longevity—not just sustainability, but timeless durability. Rammed earth is a perfect expression of that philosophy. With low embodied energy, unmatched thermal performance, and a deep connection to the land, it's one of the most responsible and inspiring ways to build.

The Outlier Hotel is under development. We look forward to sharing more as the project progresses. For now, we invite you to follow along as we help bring a new landmark in rammed earth construction to life in the American South.
